Ms. Isabelle Parasram
As a social impact leader, Isabelle provides direction at both a non-executive and executive level for two of the world’s most influential organisations in the fields of social value and impact management - Social Value International and Social Value United Kingdom. She also holds Board Director and Trustee roles with a policy research forum and its associated international think tank that exist to advance education in the fields of national and international governance and sustainability. Through this work, she is building upon the political and public service legacy for which she was awarded the Order of British Empire (OBE) in the Queen’s New Year’s Honours List of 2022. Her political service included advocating on democratic engagement and social justice as Vice President of a major political UK party, acting as Patron of a network for political donors and standing for the UK Parliament and the London Assembly. Her public service involved acting as a Trustee of charities dedicated to the educational support of socio-economically disadvantaged young people and as a Governor of a state secondary school. In addition, she is a certified National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) assessor and holds early years and adult education teaching qualifications. Alongside her community service, Isabelle had a lengthy legal career as an in-house lawyer representing organisations in the public, private and VCSE sectors. A significant proportion of her professional life was then spent as a practising barrister with The British Civil Service. Following that, she founded a barristers’ chambers that provided legal counsel to individuals and organisations across the globe. On a personal level, Isabelle was born in East London to Indo-Caribbean ‘Windrush generation’ parents who came to the UK from Trinidad and Tobago.
