Dr. Fares Kikano
Fares is the Lead Technical Expert for Sustainable Energy Finance (SEF) Advisory Services in the Middle East and Africa at IFC. He provides business and technical advisory services to Financial Institutions (Banks, MFIs, Asset Managers) developing Sustainable Energy Finance programs around Energy Efficiency, Renewable Energy and Green Buildings asset classes. He plays a leading role supporting financial institutions in identifying and assessing key opportunities for SEF, and supports through technical assistance, the upscale of IFC investments and Green Bonds programs exceeding USD 500 million combined active portfolios. Fares has over 20 years of broad and hands on experience in technology, services and sustainable energy: He founded and lead successful operations, pioneering the Energy and Resources Efficiency and Management Services sector in the MENA region, through innovative performance driven business models and solid result oriented transition strategies. He is a Certified Energy Manager, CEM® (from Association of Energy Engineers) and an EDGE® Green Buildings Expert an (Excellence in Design for Greater Efficiency). He holds a Masters of Engineering in Technology and Services from Ecole Nationale Superieure des Telecommunications (France), and a BE in Electrical and Mechanical Engineering from Ecole Superieure d’Ingenieurs de Beyrouth (Lebanon).
